Integrative Therapeutic Counsellor & Trauma-Informed Practitioner
Hello, I’m Adenike Rebecca Teichert, a Southend-on-Sea-based counsellor passionate about helping individuals and families overcome life’s challenges. As a neurodivergent practitioner, I combine professional expertise with personal experience to create a safe, understanding space where healing and growth are possible.
Background & Training
Since 2017, I’ve cultivated a rich foundation of knowledge in Person-Centred Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic Therapy, and Transactional Analysis (TA). My approach is further enriched by training in Arts-Based Modalities, including Jungian Sand Play as counselling tools, enabling me to incorporate creative and expressive tools into sessions.
Experience & Specialisation
I provide counselling for adults, young people, and families, with a particular focus on neurodivergent individuals. I address a variety of concerns, including:
- Anxiety, depression, and OCD
- Trauma and PTSD
- Shame, guilt, and grief
- Relationship challenges
- Chronic illness and disability
Trauma-Informed Practice
With specialised training in trauma care, I prioritise creating a supportive, non-judgmental environment for those affected by trauma. My approach acknowledges the impact of systemic issues on minority groups and emphasises self-care for both client and practitioner.
Professional Affiliations & Qualifications
I am an accredited member of the NCPS and a registered member of the BACP, committed to ethical, professional practice underpinned by regular clinical supervision and continuing professional development.
